A lovely and elegant dancer, the first Belly dancer to appear on Turkish TV and to start the slow process of bringing this dance to the limelight and also of bringing some acceptance and respect to a dance that was otherwise confined to nightclubs and restaurants. She is still teaching today.
In my humble opinion, the best Belly dancer ever! Her style was extremely sexy and recognizable, amazing technique and an incredible zil player (zil is singular, zills is not the Turkish plural but English version of the plural). After her marriage she never danced again, and she probably never taught at all!
Quite a famous dancer in Turkey, though her style was not Turkish but Arabic, and indeed she performed widely in the Middle East. Performed in several Turkish films as both an actress and dancer.
A wonderful dancer with quite a unique style, she became a TV personality and presenter of the Oryantal Star, a Turkish version of So You Think You Can Dance. It is rather difficult to get a class with her.
Needs no introduction. An amazing dancer, very uniqye, with her own moves and style. As so many Romani dancers, started dancing at a young age and her mother was also a dancer. Her floor work is extremely beautiful and classy. She is now teaching, after she left the Tv show circuit.
A wonderful dancer, especially when it comes to performing Oryantal to 9/8 rhythm. She tutored Didem as the manager of Sultana's dance section when she started dancing there at a very young age. She is teaching internationally and you can study with her at her home in Istanbul.
Related to the other Karaca, a great dancer doing authentic Turkish Oriental, and a great zil player as her aunt. She is performing in Sultana these days.
